gender equality
On Monday 15 March 2021, the two Networks of Members in charge of Gender Mainstreaming in the Committees and in the standing Delegations of the European Parliament will hold a first joint meeting.

Members will exchange views on gender mainstreaming in the EU external policies and hear presentations on this topic by Ms Charlotte Isaksson, Senior Gender Advisor at the European External Action Service (EEAS), and Ms Barbara Limanowska, Gender Mainstreaming team leader of the European Institute on Gender Equality.

The Gender Mainstreaming Network promotes gender mainstreaming in the work of Parliament's committees and delegations. Committees and delegations have appointed Members responsible for gender mainstreaming who take part in regular meetings and share experiences and best practice in their fields of activity.

The meeting will not be webstreamed.

gender equality perspective in EU budget.
On 16 March 2021, Policy Department C, at the request of the FEMM Committee, will organize a workshop on "Applying gender mainstreaming in the EU recovery package".

Since the beginning of the budgetary procedure, FEMM has called for the implementation of gender-responsive budgeting to ensure women and men benefit equally from public spending through the economic recovery measures.

European resilience supposes that the EU and its Member States develop a gender-sensitive approach to recovery plans for the crisis and its aftermath.

The new EU's long-term budget is coupled with a temporary instrument designed to boost the recovery (NextGenerationEU). The EU has recently adopted a Regulation establishing the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), worth €672.5 billion, which is at the heart of the EU's recovery effort to rebuild a post-COVID-19 Europe.
