On 18 March (from 09:00 to 11:00), the Committee of Employment and Social Affairs will hold a hearing on "The Future Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at work, asbestos included" for the forthcoming years 2021-2027. As the previous EU Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at work expired by the end of 2020, the European Commission has announced a new framework aiming at maintaining and improving high OSH standards for workers across the Union in 2021.

The objective of the hearing, attended by Nicolas Schmit, Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, is to contribute to the next strategic framework from the European Parliament's side based on the information gathered from experts and stakeholders at the hearing.

The meeting will take place from 09:00 to 11:00 on 18 March 2021.

The following speakers/organisations have been invited:

Christa SEDLATSCHEK, Executive Director, European Agency for Safety and Health at work (EU OSHA)
